  1. Features & Benefits
    1. Privacy on demand: IG Switch™ glass allows users to power their view with a touch of a button, from opaque white with 88% privacy to 88% visual light transmission (VLT), allowing unobstructed views. See Figure 1.
    2. Aesthetically Pleasing: The seamless transition from opaque white to crystal clear creates a striking visual effect, adding a touch of elegance and modernity to your outdoor space.
    3. Enhanced Illumination: Carrying in the tradition of IG Railing, IG Switch is low low-iron glass and carries light in a unique and saturated level through the opaque white glass. See Figure 2.
    4. White screen for video: IG Switch can be used as a video projector screen in its natural opaque white state. Like a whiteboard used in classrooms as a screen, the opportunity to project onto the IG Switch is a real opportunity as shown in Figure 4. Projectors are not included, and the best resolution is captured when back-lighting the glass during dusk or night.
    5. UV Protection: IG Switch is designed to block 99% of harmful UV rays in its natural opaque white, providing an additional layer of protection for occupants and furnishings.
    6. Premium Lamination: IG Switch is backed by 30 years of premium USA lamination expertise. By encapsulating our interlayer film within our lamination process, we create a durable, premium product to withstand nature’s elements in the outdoor living setting.  IG Switch components and film provide a five-year warranty with a 15-year tested life expectancy.
    7. Encapsulated Interlayer: The interlayer used in IG Switch is PDLC, which stands for Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal. These liquid crystals’ natural state is dispersed as shown in Figure 3.  This is the natural state or “off” status, leaving the glass opaque white with 88% privacy. Turning on  IG Switch allows the scattered particles to be aligned, creating an 88% VLT clear view.
    8. Long Life Technology: PDLC interlayer has a 50,000-hour estimated life cycle, and low-iron glass maintains a lifetime estimated life cycle.
